I don’t think I’ve ever really met Josh Burke. At least not formally. Much of my early exposure to him has been through tale, only hearing what the teller felt led to share about him. He was the main character in a lot these stories, and their narrator always spoke highly of him (and his beard).

My time came, I suppose, early fall of 2007. It was inevitable that we would meet and hit it off. On top of his almost irresistible likability, we share a lot of the same passions and goals. Much like my conversion, the take off point of our relationship is blurry, but nonetheless, we have grown quite fond of each other and have become good friends. He has inspired me to live unashamedly, provoking my innermost creativity to surface and take hold of life’s hilarious moments and, believe it or not, laugh. Plus he has a sweet beard.

Josh Burke is a breath of fresh air. He renews my chi, refreshes my mind, and focuses my thoughts. Yes, a man of great integrity, whom I gladly come along side with and talk (learn) theology, scripture, and song. I love this man. I love his beard. He makes this list because, when I think of him, I think of someone who knows what life is; Who knows what is important and who loves Christ. I thank God for Josh. I thank Josh for Josh.
